Many beginners that are trying to learn guitar music get stuck.
They don’t know exactly how they should practice, chords feel
uncomfortable and are difficult to master and they feel they’re
not making progress at all. It seems they they just can’t find
anything to concentrate on.

If you’re not up to the level you would like to be, it’s not
necessarily that the guitar is not the instrument for you
or you don’t want to learn. There could be some other things
wrong with your your practicing schedule, learning style, or even
your choice of guitar.

Your Guitar

A visit to a good guitar store might prove very helpful.
For you to be able to learn guitar music, you have got to find
the guitar that works best for you. Guitars come in various
sizes, with different types of fret boards. Better yet, if you have
a friend or a teacher who knows how to play the guitar
well, you might be able to get some advice from them.
If your instrument feels uncomfortable, it is  most certainly not because
your hands are too big or small or anything like that. There exist guitarists
who even play guitar with their feet and there must be some who
have even smaller hands than you do. But, it could be something
wrong with the instrument you have chosen.  Maybe the guitar is too big
or the strings are too high or?
How to Practice right.

Some people want to learn from a few tabs to play songs at campfires.
However, if you want more, a good method would be to start from
one song or exercise you enjoy playing and then just keep expanding
on it. This could mean learning more songs by the same author or taking
a certain riff through all the keys.

A very important thing for learning to play guitar music is wanting
it intensely. Burning desire is way more important than talent. If you really really
want to learn guitar music, you will be willing to sacrifice some other parts of your
life for your practice. This doesn’t mean you must give up your social
life and practice until you’re playing like a total superstar. It means that
you don’t feel the need to put off practicing until later to play video games.

You shouldn’t try to learn guitar music just because someone else makes you
do it either. Practicing should be fun, not stressful. You should learn only
because you want to. If you get enjoyment from your playing, you sure are
surely on the right track and at each point you will continue to progress.
Videos, Books & Private Lessons.

There are tons of books, video lessons and online lessons that
claim to help you learn guitar music. These are can be really useful for
some people, especially for people who are good listeners. However,
this is not the case for everyone. Many people need face-to-face instruction
and they often reject anything else.
If you worked well on books, you might succeed in learning guitar this
way too. Think about the way you’ve learned other practical things in your life.
However, if you get bored easily and don’t have enough
patience to read a theory book, you may need a private teacher.
It may take you a while until you find one you can communicate well
with and who meets your learning requirements.
